Transport Quality Standards for Disabled People
Over and above the normal requirements that everybody wishes for in a transport system, the following should be considered in quality proofing transport services for disabled people:
· Transport that is accessible and affordable.
· Services which are regular and reliable.
· Safe and clean transport.
· Fully staffed stations with enough staff to support access for Disabled
people.
· Information that is clear, easy to use and available in Braille,
large print and tape.
· Passenger announcements should be both spoken on tannoys and displayed
on screens.
· Transport that means more than one person in a wheelchair can travel
at a time.
