National Advisory Group Meeting - 19 August 2004
The groups first meeting on 19th August developed a NAG model outline, with the core belief that expertise regarding issues affecting people with disabilities comes from people with disabilities. This expertise and knowledge should feed into CIL's and on to NAG, raising awareness of issues with other relevant support and service groups. From this a clear national map of current provision, and gaps in provision, of services for people with disability should emerge. This information could in turn be passed back to CIL's and individual centre users to allow development of action plans ensuring that the needs of people with disabilities are ultimately met.
