Dublin Leader Forum Meetings
At the Dublin Leader Forum Introductory meeting, the following DLF structure was put in place:
Dublin Leaders run the DLF, is independent of any service provider and accountable to its members. The Forum is pperated through a committee with four main focuses as above. An overall spokesperson reports back to the forum and carries any forum concerns back to the committee groups.
At this meeting three new temporary members of staff - Owen Collumb (P/T), Orlaith Humphreys (P/T) and Caroline Mitchell - introduced themselves. Their aim is to get the DLF up and running over the next four months. Immediate tasks include developing a Terms of Reference for each of the four groups within the forum; compiling the second DLF newsletter and organising a solidarity night for leaders and PA's in February '06. The DLF's four groups and their purpose were discussed. Each group agreed to nominate a spokesperson to link with each other and to develop strong methods of working together. One of the groups prioritised recruiting more members, the other three prioritised some pieces of work and committed to making a start. It was emphasised that members must communicate and meet, but not necessarily face-to-face. Each group will organise a work plan for the next 6 months, with Owen (temporary spokesperson) responsible for pulling all the plans together .
